Earthquake
Things are just business as usual with just 1 week away from the big day at PMX...

Tonight, we've experienced a very significant sized earthquake at 5.6. Couple with the recent SoCal fires, I've notice many of my friends used whom laugh joke about my tinfoil hat mentality on being readied and prepared are now taking a second notice.
Disasters happens. It's always less of an "if" and and more of a "when", and "what". My philosophy is that these things are always inevitable throughout history. When that time comes, I'd like to be one who can help. I like modern convinces just like everyone else. But having the necessary primitive skills prevents one to become a liability to others.

I didn't realise there was an earthquake until I read this. Well then I just read another friend's LJ entry and said he was almost on the BART train that ran over the guy at Powell then went home and felt the earthquake even being on the 8th floor. I didn't hear from my sister, so I guess it wasn't that bad in SF.

For some reasons when the 'tinfoil hat' bit, I was actually picturing you wearing a tinoil hat/headdress of some sort. XD Sorry being random here. But anyway, yes I'm with you about being prepared there.

I was not far away from that. But the good thing is, I usually take the ferry home. so it doesn't really affect me.

Come to think of it, I really ought to see if I can make some sort of tinfoil headdress of some sort. bonnet maybe? It should be the best coverage to keeping aliens, government, as well as the NBA out of my head. :P :P

Haha, I remember you and your lost ferry ticket booklet story. ;)

Yes, I think a tinfoil headdress/bonnet/mini top hat is a must! And please take some pictures! XD

I feel the same way about these things. They're inevitable. The best thing is to be mentally prepared for when they happen.

No quakes down here right now & the fires didn't hit my area, but I agree it's good to be prepared. I have these emergency kits that have been sitting on the shelf gathering dust for decades now. ;-)

How's that oil spill cleanup going? I heard people got tired of waiting for the gov't to act & went out to help mop it themselves. I hope they wear good protection; the cleanup crew from the Exxon Valdez spill are still suffering health problems to this very day. ;-(

BTW, nice seeing you again at PMX! I hope we can meet again when you are less busy. ^_^
